How I prepared for IISc PhD interview in Electrical Communication Engineering department?
In this article, I will be sharing my experience on how I had prepared for the IISc PhD interview in the Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) department. I first came to know of the PhD programme at IISc in ECE when I was in my MS by Research at IIIT Bangalore through my good friend Sumukha. He suggested me to apply in 2024 winter cycle just to get some experience and apply again in summer of 2025. The first time when I had applied, I was asked to pick two out of five subjects. I picked Linear Algebra and Probability and Random Process. I was taken inside a room where the panel grilled me on basic questions in these areas. For this time, I had referred to Gilbert Strang videos and the textbook for linear Algebra, and did Tsitsiklis' lectures on probability on YouTube. This helped me to work upon my basics and I was able to answer to some extent.
